Mother's Day Gift Ideas

We're going to enter the month of May in few days. Four months passes us by so fast now. I wonder what May has for me this year.

One thing for sure, May is known for the month we celebrated Mother's Day. It is an occasion when we express our love and respect for our mother as she is the most precious gift bestowed on us. This year Mother's Day falls on Sunday, 8th of May if I'm not mistaken. So, what have you guys planning to give your mother?

Here are few example:
  • Jewellery
  • Flowers
  • Gift Hampers/Baskets
  • Perfumes
  • Reading Material
  • Gadgets for working mother
  • Spa or facial treatment
Just remember, whatever it is, our mother will always treasure a gift from someone whom she loves the most - their children.

M - O - T - H - E - R
Author: Howard Johnson

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell
A word that means the world to me

Me and kiddo
P/S: Will I get two gifts on May? Mother's day and my birthday? Hehe.

Story of The Day - Who Are You To Judge?

One old man was sitting with his 25 years old son in the train. Train is about to leave the station. All the passengers are settling down into their seats. As the train started the young man was filled with a lot of joy and curiosity.

He was sitting on the window side. He went out one hand and feeling the passing air. He shouted, "Papa see all the trees are going behind". Old man smile and admired his son's feelings. Beside the young man one couple was sitting and listening to the conversation between father and son. They were little awkward with the attitude of the 25 years old man behaving like a small child.

Suddenly the young man again shouted, "Papa see the pond and animals. Clouds are moving with the train". The couple was watching the young man in embarrassment. Now its started raining and some of water drops touches the young man's hand. He is filled with joy and he closed his eyes. He shouted again, "Papa it's raining, water is touching me, see papa". The couple couldn't help themselves and ask the old man. "Why don't you visit the Doctor and get your son treated?". Old man said, "Yes, we were from the hospital. Today my son got his eyes for the first time in his life".

Moral of the story is; We must not come to any conclusion until we know all the facts. Learned from the past, live in the present and work for the future.
A friend forwarded it to me, and I find this is the best short stories I've read this year so far.

Is It Wrong If You're Smarter Than Others?

School is supposed to be a safe place for our children, don't you agree? How many times have we heard about school children beaten up in schools? Or how many times we heard some of the smaller kids being bullied by their seniors? Almost everyday.

Yesterday I read in the Star online, a 17 year old boy was beaten up by eight boys from a different school. They trespassed into the victim's school and attacked the boy while he was chatting with his friend. He was dragged outside the classroom and pushed behind a chemistry lab before being assaulted by the group. Unfortunately, the teacher was not in at that time.

The issue? Because he is the top student in his school. I feel sorry for the boy. If it was my child, I would feel miserable and seriously changed my boy to another school. I don't know what has happen to our children these days. What trigged them to put in such act. They seem to be violent. That what makes me think of home schooling my kiddo. But, I felt that would stop him from mixing with others. I don't want him to be like frog underneath coconut shell.

There's no doubt kids these days can use laptop at early age. Image credit to Google
Is it wrong to be smarter than others? There's no surprise if in adult world this happens. The only difference is, the way adult handles it. There are people called backstabbers and huge butt-ass kissers. Don't believe me? Look among yourself. You can easily find one.

Junior MasterChef Australia Fever Ended - Isabella Won!

Last night was the finale of Junior MasterChef Australia (2010). I don't know why they have to aired it so late in Malaysia (not sure about other countries, maybe the same), when the show was actually in 2010?! I thought it was a new show like American Idol. *sigh*

So, OK nevermind. I wanted to share my thoughts here anyway. Hehe.

I really enjoyed watching the show. Mr. Fruitheart too. Both of us feels hungry and drooled over the food they made. I myself would have never ever cooked all those dishes like them. I can't even pronounced the name.

When I was 12, I can only cooked rice. Haha. I don't even know what are spanakopita, frangipane, poached scampi and vongole. I just know how to eat delicious food only.

In the finale, twelve-year old Isabella from Queesland won the first ever Junior MasterChef Australia. She made thh colorful 'Scallops with Garlic Custard, Seaweed Broth and a Lemon and Blood Orange Jelly'.

Beautiful isn't it?

While Jack from Tasmania, the only boy who managed to get into the final four has cooked 'Tea Smoked Quail in a Citrus Sauce'. Seriously, I wouldn't have the idea to smoked the quail with tea. Do you he started cooking at the age of 9?

This was made by Pierre. If I were to cook this, I would need one whole day.
'Pierre’s Lamb Wellington with Spinach and Mushroom Duxcell'.

Everytime after I watched how those 8-13 year old kids cooked, I have the passion to cook too. Only that I don't have the err.. time. Only on weekends. And yeah, the stuff. Excuses right?

I found this quote from Junior MasterChef Australia very interesting:
"Age is no barrier to be a good cook. What it needs is passion". - Matt Preston

I totally agree with you Matt!

Food Review: Khan Baba Restaurant

After we picked up kiddo from his school trip, we went to Khan Baba Restaurant - Arabic, Pakistani, western, BBQ. We had dinner there. My first time tasting Arabian cuisine.

The place was quite and there were only two customers enjoying their food when we arrived. It was 6.45pm. They are open seven days a week, from 12pm to 12 midnight.

The restaurant design and furniture were all simple yet cosy. The staff were friendly. Most of them are foreigners.

We ordered:

Chicken Masal Bryani RM 13.90
Chicken Keema Masala RM14.90

Khan Baba Mix Grills (Single) RM49.90
Naan Bread RM2.00
4 out of 5

Big portion and seriously I am so full after eating it. My tummy became rounder. *blush*

Delicious and smells good naan bread

Kiddo enjoying his 100+ with ice!
Mr. Fruitheart with his nescafe ice
Overall, superb! Definitely will come again. We would love to try other food.

Boys Will Always Be Boys

He Got It From Me..Pass The Tissue Please

What is the most challenging part being a mother? For me, raising your kid to be a good useful person. Make sure he eats healthy food and on time.

OK, what do you expect from a seven year old? Listen to everything you said? Behave like an angel and never heard him say bad words, hmm.. like stupid? Or sarcasm words like what ever?

Is parenting hard? YES! No one ever told me how to raise a child. No one ever teach me how to calm down a kid when he cried non-stop or have tantrums. No one ever told me that The method of parents raised their kids now and fifteen years ago is way totally different. When my kiddo gives me his one million dollar questions, I sure scratch my head which is not itchy. Sometimes, I will say to him I will think of an answer and get back to him. Oh brother! Sound like my boss already.

During my seven years of raising him, I still don't get it if his behaviour is normal or the sign of a behavioural disorder. The most challenging part to me is to calm him down when he cried. Almost to everything.

I have to admit, during my pregnancy I always cried. And I am very sensitive. He gets it from me, don't you think? What his mother feels, he felt it also cause he is in me. It's my fault he behave like that.

P/S: My friend told me, problems are a part of everyday life. You are lucky you have a child. Cherish them, because you will lose them one day and you won't even know it!

Lovely! Image credit to the hotel website
I booked the flight+hotel via airasiago. I have to admit, packages they offered are really good and worth it. For me OK, other's might find it expensive. As long as it is within our budget, OK and approved by Mr. Fruitheart. This is definitely a holiday that we totally paid for luxurious. After all our hard work and stressed, it is time to pay it all by luxurious holiday. Yahoo!

I have not decided what we will be doing there. Maybe sight seeing most of the time, exploring KK and lazying at the beach or cooling inside pool. I know both my boys will like it.

Another forty-five more days to go. Have to work hard till the day comes.

Justin Bieber Fever, Less Work, Easter and Good Friday

You must be thinking what is it got to do with the title with me. Of course it does. That's why I wrote it that way. Haha. Silly me. That is simply because I don't have interesting entry to post.

This Bieber fever seems not going to get any better. I've been listening to from morning and they kept on playing his songs. Almost, ever hour or can I say every half hour? Gosh! Yeah, sounds that I am annoyed, but in the heart I like. Hehe. Wouldn't be surprised if we heard girls faint, screaming oh and the list goes on. Crazy over Bieber.

So today, there are not much to do in the office. I have changed my login information for blogger from yahoo to GMail. Great! All the blog list I followed, poof! gone. Disappear. Lucky I can still access using the yahoo mail and I copied everything. Phew! So far, that is the only thing missing and troublesome. I have not read anywhere if everyone else facing the same issue. Or if there are any steps that I didn't know of. Also, here I am 'curi tulang' blogging while working. Haha. Like I never did this before.

I read here for how to do it: Notis dari google blog yang tidak menggunakan akaun google akan dihapuskan. Thank you kak Jie.

Less work because my counterpart in Europe will be on Easter and Good Friday long holiday. A week! So wonderful. Wonder when I can have my long one week leave again. Last I had my one week holiday was when I am married. maybe in December I can get my one week leave. Yeah, hopefully Australia.

Where To Go During May School Holiday: Suggestions Please

Ugh! Both me and Mr. Fruitheart had not decided where to go during this coming May school holiday. Since kiddo had started schooling, we cannot simply pick when or where we want to go. Don't want him to 'ponteng sekolah'.

We've been to Redang, Tioman, Kuantan and Penang. We love beaches so much, and maybe this time around we wanted to go somewhere else.

So, I would love to know if my readers out there have suggestions where we can go this time. Oh by the way, not Kuala Lumpur please. We lived there. Hehe. Thank you in advance!

Infected by Bieber Fever

This office is so damn cold. I don't feel good also, maybe I have fever. Or more to Bieber fever?? Hehe. Speaking of the famous-glamorous-girls-go-crazy-about-17-year-old singing sensation will come down to KL, Malaysia on 21st April. That is TOMORROW!

Major radio stations like Hitz.FM has given free tickets, and so does some other. A lot of ways for Malaysians, or I can say teenagers for them to get those free tickets. No I have not tried winning any. If I am 15 I would asked my dad to buy the ticket no matter what. Haha. Duh! Like he's going to buy it anyway.

Ticket Prices: RM98 (Standing Only), RM188, RM288, RM358 and RM498 (VIP Area)

So VIP area you got to see Bieber clearly huh? Can touch his face is it? Haha. I think we can listen girls screaming rather than his singing. Believe it or not Beliebers?

P/S: My kiddo is a Justin Bieber fan!

One Flaw In Women

God doesn't give you the people you want; He gives you the people you NEED. To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.

One Flaw In Women
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends.Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

I Had Subway For Lunch and Hungry After 1 Hour

Mr. Fruitheart is the person responsible introducing me to SUBWAY. No I am not on a diet, but he is. Hehe. He needs to control his way of eating. Or else, rounder tummy.

I was in a hurry during lunch time today and don't know what to eat. Went to Pavilion to settled things, which not settle at the end. *sigh*. Along the way, I saw there was no queue at Subway and I straight went inside. I ordered Italian BMT because it was the deal of the day. As long as it is under RM10, fine with me.

Reached the office at 1pm, and ate it at my cubical. I know deep down inside my tummy, after one hour or if I am not lucky after 30 minutes, I will feel hungry again.

You know what? My tummy is correct! So hungry, I just wish I have ordered rice instead. I used to ordered rice and Subway at the same time. Too much huh?

Something Called... Dream Holiday

Have you ever aim to go for a holiday you have ever dreamed of? There are a lot of holidays you can choose from: adventure travel, backpacking, beach holidays, family holidays, honeymoons, luxury travel, rest and relaxation, sailing and boating.. lots of other more.
You can also choose your activity from the lazing on a beach, soaking up the sun to flying down the slopes of the alps on your skis or visiting an ancient city. What do you look for when you decide to go for your dream holiday? Where is your dream destination?

OK. We will come to May soon and for Mr. Fruitheart it is time for another holiday after hard work. He had asked me where we can go. I have no idea. We are still deciding. Oh and guess what? Kiddo had marked December 18th for us to go to Australia. Yeah you heard me. The seven year old boy decided to take his parents for a holiday which we pay for it.

My island dream holiday - Sipadan Island, Sabah, Malaysia

Sipadan makes it one of the top world's diving spots and the most famous scuba destination in Malaysia. I wish I can go there one sweet day.

My luxury cruise dream holiday

I would love to experience and enjoy a week on cruise. I have had experience riding on a boat to Redang Island and Tioman Island. Sea sick. *cries* Cruise is much bigger than a boat definitely, I might not have sea sick right? Or not?

My adventure dream holiday

I admit I am not that adventurous person. I don't like mountain climbing, jungle trekking. However, I wish to go for ski in Aspen! We don't have snow here in Malaysia yeah. We used to have man made snow. Nah! No fun.

My romantic dream holiday

Where else? Paris! City of love. Ooh La La. It has been listed as the most romantic city in the world. Enthralling and captivating, it exudes the charm of romance like none. Paris is just perfect for romance. Oh and not to forget, Venice. Known as 'the floating city'. Beautiful water landscapes, oh so romantic. Mr. Fruitheart, will you care enough to bring me there, honey?

Disneyland. I grow up watching Mickey Mouse. And after 30 years, my seven year old kid watched it too.

To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world. ~ Walter E. The Rise Of Business Mummy Bloggers

I am a mummy blogger, but NO currently I am not involving myself in business. In this entry, I wanted to share with you three of my friends which I know from high school that has started an online shopping business. You might have seen small business starting online and many of these are started by women.

What encourage me to post this entry? I am sharing with you their determination for making their online business successful despite being a mother, wife, businesswoman and also working. Multitasking women. I called them SUPERMOM! Hehe.

Women now days are more likely to be interested in stuff they can do from home. Which they can do it with a CLICK. I would love to do that too. That will happen if I have 'things' to sell online right?

Butik Inspirasi by Nurul Hana
She studied law, very nice lady. Currently staying in Ipoh, Perak and has two kids, a boy and a girl. She sells 'muslimah' attire such as 'tudung' and clothes. You can select based on photos provided and put in shopping cart. For those who had experienced online shopping (like me!) knows how it is being done.

How she promote her business? Facebook most of the time. She posted it on her profile and tag friends/customers. That way, they know there are new product or she has restocked it. I really admire her determination and effort. She also opened up a booth if there are carnival near her place. Prices are affordable and materials are from good quality. Customers sure satisfied with her products.

My Baju Baby by Suhana Irda

The Day When I Am Mrs

Remembering those sweet days is sure to bring a smile on my face.

The Art Of A Good Marriage
Wilferd Arlan Peterson

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens.
A good marriage must be created. In marriage the little things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry. It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through the years. It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It is standing together facing the world. It is forming a circle of love that gathers the whole family.
It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy. It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not looking for perfection in each other. It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow old. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal. It is not only marrying the right partner; it is being the right partner.
