Favourite Quote of The Week #39

Ya Allah Ya Tuhan Kami,
Andai Kau berkenan limpahkanlah kepada kami
Cinta yang Kau jadikan pengikat rindu,
Rasulullah dan Khadijah Al-Qubra yang Kau
jadikan penghias keluarga Nabi-Mu yang suci.

Ya Tuhanku Yang Maha Pengasih
Andai semua itu tak layak bagi kami,
maka cukuplah permohonan kami dengan redha-Mu,
Jadikanlah kami suami isteri yang saling
mencintai di kala dekat dan jauh,
saling menjaga kehormatan di kala jauh,
saling menghibur di kala duka,
saling mengingat di kala bahagia,
saling mendoakan dalam kebaikan dan ketakwaan,
saling menyempurnakan dalam peribadatan.

Ya Tuhanku Yang Maha Penyayang,
Sempurnakanlah kebahagiaan kami dengan
menjadikan perkahwinan kami ini
sebagai ibadah kepada-Mu,
dan bukti pengikutan dan cinta kami
kepada sunnah Rasul-Mu,
Sesungguhnya Kaulah Yang Maha Pemurah
Lagi Maha Penyayang.
Amin Ya Rabbal Alamin.

Homeschool, Reading and Learning

I had this note in my iPhone for what I need to do the next day. Since I am pregnant, I do need this note.. no I can't paste sticky note on my forehead right? That would be weird.

I found out kiddo had a little bit trouble in creating his own sentences. Usually with his Bahasa Malaysia homework. And he always asked me how to do it and I can see the frustration on his face. I haven't seen how he did it for English. I asked myself, how can I help him? Give him more books to read? Make more sentences? OK, I know this is just an excuse.. due to my current condition, I am not much of a help to keep an eye on his studies. I feel so bad and blame myself for not being a good teacher to my own son.

So I was searching the Internet 'how to read for kids, how to improve your Bahasa Malaysia' and so many other hows. I came across these 2 websites when I searched for phonics techniques and When kiddo was in kindergarten his teacher taught him reading by using this techniques. But, I wouldn't want kiddo to this all over again wouldn't I? He is 9 years old now. I need to buy more short interesting story books to read. And he reads it in front of me or with me. Time.. yeah, that's my main concern. With a toddler and baby coming soon, I really hope I have and will make time for him.

I also came across a mother's blog - mamahomeschool which I find very interesting  Who knows one day I might be homeschooling my own children. I could learn something from her blog and start practise it to baby girl.

P/S: I am in the mood and motivation for homeschooling my children now. Not to mention I want to be tai tai.. mem besar. I wish!

Me and My Third Trimester

Third trimester? That means baby going to come out soon. OK now that makes me scared. "Ala anak dah nak masuk 3, nak takut apa. Orang dah berpengalaman. Sekali teran je dah keluar. Sakit sikit je." Biasa dengar? Hello? Excuse me. Every pregnancy is different. And I am the type of no matter how many times I've gone through it, I AM STILL AFRAID!

I am on my 28 weeks. Today, the babybump application told me this:
Baby Size - 14.8 in chinese cabbage
Baby Weight - 2.25 lb

Feeling Like a Punching Bag?
The little one growing in your belly is getting stronger, and his strength, combined with the increasing size of your uterus, may cause you some pain or discomfort. Your uterus is pressing against your organs, and when your baby occasionally moves, he may bump or poke them, causing you to feel sharp, stabbing pains or pressure under your ribs. This pain, although unpleasant, is not uncommon. The best treatment is to lie down or switch positions until baby is down for the count, and you’ll both be able to rest comfortably again.

How am I suppose to lie down when I'm the office baby? You know, I feel so heavy and huge like a polar bear. I wish I just can roll myself going everywhere. Whenever I walked, I feel pain in my pelvis area. When you moved, whoaa.. you REALLY MOVED. Daddy knows very well because if he is nearby, I would grab his wrist and press it hard trying to reduce the pain. It's like.. "Can you feel how I feel?"

P/S: When you sit you feel uneasy, when you lie down you have to slowly get up. Hold on Fara.. 82 more days to go. You can do it!

Finding Helper / Maid Part II

Continuing our story with finding helper.

For your info yes we do searched registered agency here and there. We have been provided with the amount we have to pay and the profile. On one of the day, I stumbled upon an advert Pembantu Asal Jawa while searching for helper.

To be honest, the way the person posted the advert caught my eye and attention. Manis sangat! I sent an email to Few minutes later I received a reply together with profile of candidates and the price. Only RM2800 and of course I got blinded! I keep on telling myself, where would you get RM2800?? All were asking for RM7-12K. Gosh! This is way too cheap. Way way way too cheap. I told Mr. Fruitheart and he called the number provided in the email +6287722261674.

Yes, it was Indonesian mobile number.

The person who answered it was soft spoken and speak Indonesian language. At one point we did asked ourselves again, is this for real? I even did a checked on the Internet by using keyword prt indon and yes there were few comments about it. Hmm.. but I do not why we still proceed. Black magic?

So, on last Monday Mr. Fruitheart transferred RM500 to Robi (the b******-I-hope-die-tragically-and-rot-in-hell) using Western Union. He said, he and the maid will arrived on Thursday at 2.45pm using Air Asia. He even gave us the flight number.

I took leave on Thursday and Friday, just to settled this. Mr. Fruitheart keep on telling me that forget all other stuff about buying furniture for example as he was so anxious in waiting for the maid to arrive. What if she didn't come?

The day came and yes, we were conned! Mr. Fruitheart called the number but no one picked up. He checked the flight schedule and it has already arrived but no one called him. Lucky we didn't wait at the airport. And thank GOD we didn't pay full. It will add more tension and frustration to us. RM500 is considered a lot to them. Nearly 1MIL!

I know it was our mistake, totally. We got blinded. Despite all the news about other people being cheated by agent, runaway maid, cheating legal agent, illegal agent. Now both of us had really learned our lesson.

Now we both are not in a rush to find a helper. So frustrated and angry we just stopped looking, searching and asking. We both decided to send our girl to nursery and have not yet decided about our new baby. If I have to take unpaid leave until we feel the new baby is suitable to be sent to nursery, I'll take it. And if God has planned for me to quit my job and take care of my own children, I will do it.

P/S: Come to think about it and asked yourself, seriously would you pay up to 12K for a maid? No right? Plus, we don't have that amount of money at all.

Favourite Jokes of The Week #36

This is not a quote or poem which like usual post I did every Thursday. Something I find truly hilarious and funny!

Little Girl on a Plane – Anonymous

A California congressman was seated next to a little girl on the flight to D.C. When the politician turned to her and said, 'Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.'

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and asked, ‘What would you like to talk about?’

‘Oh, I don’t know,’ said the congressman. ‘How about nuclear power?’ and he grins.

'OK,' she said.

‘That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?’

The politician, now visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, ‘Hmmm, I have no idea.'

To which the little girl replies, ‘Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don’t know poop?'

Finding Helper / Maid

I thought we would never have to deal with maid and domestic helper issue. Boy I was so wrong. Baby girl's babysitter is unwell and has to go for operation. Her last day with the babysitter was last month. Of course I am sad and so did Makcik Aishah (my friend's mother). She cried when she said.. "Kesian Arissa, nenek tak boleh jaga dah. Nenek sayang Arissa ni. Senang jaga dia. Baik je." (Pity Arissa, grandma is not well to take of you. I love you. It was not hard to take care of you. Such a good girl). Teary eyes.

So me and Mr. Fruitheart have been hunting for helper since last two weeks. I can say it was such a tiring process, the hassle and trouble we've gone thru makes us stress! Of course we've read the news everywhere about runaway maids, the procedure and so on. And now we're experiencing it.

We asked around for contact and some friends suggest us few agencies. Yes, the price is so damn expensive as we know it. We asked for profile and we did shortlisted few candidates. The ultimate stress and tension came when we were supposed to meet the so called maid which schedule to arrived on last Thursday night at 12 in Seremban. At 12 midnight! And no one showed up. Not even an SMS from the agent informing us whether the meeting was cancelled or postponed, not even a SORRY!. We had to trouble ourselves left the office early, rushed home packed our stuff and stucked in traffic jammed. The next day also there were no SMS or called. Frustrating. Terus tawar hati! That's it I said, not going to depend on you anymore.

I also did my research on the Internet. It's like a gambling game, where you're trying your luck in finding a good agency and helper. I SMS this one number and asked for profile. The one that I want was already taken, so I was OK. The next day the same person SMS me back and said he has another candidate. I asked for profile and wanted to interview her. He asked for a booking fee RM800. Err no.. I won't pay single cent. He said, trust him he is not a scammer and said if I am not satisfied with the maid he can give me another candidate or give me back my money. You think I would believe you in giving me back my money? Oh no.. no.. no. I told him, I will need to discuss further with my husband and he said, discuss faster because there are some other employer who also want the maid. Hot stuff gituuuuuuuuuuu.

The story doesn't end there. He kept on SMSing and pushing us to make decisions. Why do you have to be so pushy one? Mr. Fruitheart had called the person also and he kept on pushing and said.. "So confirm?" My husband didn't even finished his questions yet he kept on saying 'So confirm?" Haish! We were frustrated and had told the man, it's OK.. we cancel. He asked me if the reason we cancelled because of the booking fee. I said, no.. we wanted to interview. And he also said, if we can come to his place on the dot and interview but still we have to pay RM800. I said politely, no thank you, it's OK. He then said, his staff can send the maid to our house for interview. Ehh.. I thought the maid was a hot stuff, other employer want her.. hmm.. fishy. So I didn't reply. I thought it should end there. Enough is enough.

P/S: So that is the first episode of our story in finding a helper.
