Favourite Quote of the Week #31 - Simplicity

Living simply means having time to waste with God and other people; time to dream, time for life to occur, informally, as it does. Living simply isn’t something you wedge in, finding a slot for a simplicity moment in the packed schedule of your very successful life. Simplicity is walking an entirely different track. ~ Penelope Wilcock

Favourite Quote of The Week #30 - Raising Children

“You can't make me be nice.
You can't make me be good.
You can't make me believe.
But your example, your kindness, your patience and love will affect me perhaps enough that eventually I may choose to do those things.”

My Kuih Raya Selection

Hari Raya celebration is not complete without kuih raya. This year, I bought my kuih raya online. And yes, delivered by hand. I wish I had time to make kuih raya on my own. I missed those times when I was little, my siblings and I helped my mom baked cookies. I believe I can do that when both my girls are big enough to understand hot stove and sharp knife.

Yesterday, my first batch of kuih raya delievered to my house. Ehem.. special delivery! HEHE.

Ordered from shazmoha_mdp (instagram). These kuih raya are from orange inai resources. I ordered 2 Berry Crush, 2 Chunky Choc Chips and 2 Melting Semperit. I've tested before I placed my orders and yes they're yummy. Mr. Fruitheart loves the chunky choc chips while kiddo, he loves semperit the most. I have a feeling before 1st Syawal, the jar will be empty.

I got my second batch of kuih raya today. Blueberry cheese tart which I loved so much. Ordered online too from My Lovely Tart. Here is my post about it 2 years ago They Couldn't Make Until Raya

I have to hide all my kuih raya. My project tonight when all of them sleep.

P/S: Baju raya, kuih raya, duit raya.. complete. Kasut raya? Pakai saja apa yang ada.

TAWC - Make Ahead Meal End of Ramadhan Month

It's 19th of Ramadhan. We're going to meet Syawal in 10 days. That was fast. And on last Tuesday was Public Holiday in Malaysia due to the Nuzul Quran. I decided to make my once a week meal. 2 hours of sweating, screaming and praying for my meal to taste good. Puasa kan.. rasa makanan takkan sama dan dengan nak melayan kerenah anak-anak yang aktif itu adalah sangat mencabar.

My upper freezer is full again. Yay! I bought my fresh produce at the TTDI market early morning when everyone were sleeping. Did my shopping for 40 mins and spent RM70. Not bad. Why me and Mr. Fruitheart found it expensive when we first bought from there last time? No idea.

So I made ayam paprik dengan kacang panjang dan lobak, kari daging dengan kentang, sayur bayam bening and kangkung goreng. I bought fish, washed it and marinated to make it easier for me to cook later on some other day. Oh by the way, is RM10 for bawal hitam expensive? It's big. No right. I know I should've bought it.

I managed to get 4 packs of ayam paprik, 3 packs of kari daging and 4 packs of bayam. That could last for 2 weeks as usual. I had kangkung goreng for break fasting and sahur. Nice home made meal.

Sometimes I envy my girlfirends who has time to cook after they reached home. With kids some more. I cannot concentrate my cooking when my girls are crying and need attention. That is why I opt for once a week cooking. A good invention to full time working mother and housewife like ME.

P/S: I used to dislike cooking when I was young.. ehem teenager.

Favourite Quote of The Week #29 - Winning

If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride and never quit, you’ll be a winner. The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards. Paul “Bear” Bryant

Food Review: Ramadhan Buffet at PICC

This year we chose PICC at Putrajaya for our family break fasting. It is a must for all of us to spend just one night during Ramadhan to gather together. Since it was held on weekends, I do not have to take leave.

We left the house at 6.00PM. 30 mins drive to PICC. Free parking. Good to know. PICC is HUGE! I can't take much pictures, outing with a baby and toddler.. need to pay more attention to them.

I really like their Chicken Briyani. I took one scoop of briyani rice, topped it with it's sauce and dalca. Delicious! Took little bit of each 'kerabu', I just love 'kerabu' a lot so I have to taste every one of it. Yes, it's tasty.

Yes, 'Kawah Berapi' they called it. Variety of food.

Gerai ABC. It's a long queue and I hate to wait. So no ABC for me that day. Beside it is the 'gerai putu piring'. Long queue too.

They also have 'kambing bakar' which I couldn't take picture. The queue was way too long. There here were also satay, fruits, pasta and chicken rice corner. Taste and took little of each, cannot eat too much. I was surprised to see a table that is so full with foods on their plate.

The rare food kiddo chose. Spaghetti bolognese. Yeah, that food cannot beat his mother's cooking it seems. Profesional chef vs mom's cooking.

With the price we have to pay, I would say it is worth it. For adult it's RM80, children above 5 is RM40. Alhamdulillah, kenyang.

Peace yo!

Oh I forgot to mention, they also have lucky draw prize for all guests.. duit raya RM3000, other prizes worth of RM10K - LED TV 40', Samsung Note 3 and many more. The result will only be announced on the first week of Syawal on their facebook page - Facebook PICC.

P/S: Definitely will come again next year insyAllah.

Favourite Quote of The Week #28 - Peace

20 Years Ago vs 2014

Me and Mr. Fruitheart took the LRT to work everyday. We've had enough of heartache and cursing during our time driving all the way to work and back from Jln. Tun Razak to Bulatan Pahang. It became worse during rain. Once in a while if we have an agenda only then we drive to work.

We were both chatting and there were few people heading to same direction with us, to LRT Gombak station.

People were busy with their smart phones. We can hardly see two people talking or reading. All eyes and both hands were busy admiring their small electronic thing. They were so engrossed with their gadgets.

Mr. Fruitheart said, 20 years ago people hold their books or talked to each other. People laughed and talked. But now when they do that, some would give them a weird look or even raised their eyebrows. Seems like they were being disturbed by the noise.

Do you remember when was the last time you smile at someone in the train? Smile to a stranger? I did yesterday, to a lady. But she didn't smile back. Oh well, I have to admit now that smile is not contagious.

Remember strategy game we play? Yes, chess.

Now, we are busy playing online strategy games and fight with another person on the other side of the world. Especially those games in Facebook.

Online Shopping at Nile.com

I was reading other people's blog which followed and stumbled upon Maria Elena's page. Her title post is pasti terliur.

And I thought it was about FOOD. Tett! Wrong. It was about her experience shopping at nile.com. Since she mentioned the word 'CHEAPER', I decided to have a look at it.

Yes, IT IS CHEAPER. I only have RM200 to spend for Raya and I bought 5 pairs of clothes. Weeee! Total spent RM128.60. My parcel arrived yesterday after it failed at first attempt because there was nobody at home. Actually there was. Heh.

My target is to buy clothes, tudung and shoe with RM200. Let's see if I can do it and accept my husband's challenge. Go! Go! Fara!

P/S: Say YES to spend within budget and wisely during Raya.
